Hey Barbi, Happy New Year, darlin'! You've been star material from the word "git" and deserve all the success you've enjoyed and much more in 2006! Love to do a duet with ya someday. ;) Hugs and Kisses, JD

Very interesting and enjoyable site.

I worked for Playboy and used to travel with Barbi in the seventies when she was starting to build her singing and acting career. We traveled from coast to coast, border to border, and into Canada as she played big rooms and small clubs. We worked hard and a had a great time. The trips were frequent and sometimes long -- two to three weeks at a time. Barbi and I used cry on each other's shoulder over how we missed our respective significant other -- She missed Hef and I missed my wife.

At times I felt like a big brother taking care of his sister. At the end of the day I would check her room to make sure she was safe and would often tuck her into bed. I would give her a hug and little kiss on the cheek. It can be lonely on the road and I think it was our way of empathising with one another. We both missed our honeys.

Sometimes we traveled with her manager, Tommy and his wife Donna. Donna and my wife, Esther, became good friends. Esther would occasionally join us on the road. Usually in Vegas or Tahoe. Barbi's secretary, Janie, also traveled with us often. I think Hef also met us a time or two in Vegas.

There were a lot of "red-eye" flights, tedious road trips, and the hours were long, but we were young and we seemed to enjoy the adventure. At least I did.

For Barbi: Thanks for the memories. From what I've gathered in the media over the years, you seem to be living the good life -- a happy fulfilling life. I hope that's true. You are a beautiful person and deserve every happiness.

God bless you,

Dear Barbi,
I saw you on an infomercial for "Hee Haw" late last nite. They showed your picture but didn't mention your name. I've been a Fan of yours since the 70's. Do you have any recent pictures? Hope you're doing well!

Hey everyone, Sony finally released the first season of "Fantasy Island" on DVD. And you know who is on an episode (our beautiful Barbi Benton). In fact guys, she's been on that show eight times during the first five seasons. I suggest everyone who wants to see Barbi at her best to contact Sony pictures to petition the other seasons to be released on DVD, so that we can live out our fantasies of seeing Barbi on a beautiful island, and while you're at it, also petition for "Love Boat" since our beauty appeared on that show five times during the first four seasons. It was these shows where I fell in love with this talented beauty, and if you haven't seen her in these shows, you will fall for her as well when you view them. Thanks,

Hi Barbi. Met you today at that special place in Colorado taking pics. Didn't hit me till I was driving home. O.M.G. Thank you for the nice chat and being so friendly. You are as beautiful as ever. I hope you remember my line "I can't tell if it's the picture or your personality that is so bright." It was a pleasure holding my blanket for you so you could see your LCD. As another fan of that unforgettable woman, who has so many talents beyond her gorgeous looks. I personally remember her on the sitcom "Sugar and spice and everything nice", truly unforgettable. If I might ask, I would love to hear her sing, if you are able to digitize your albums into mp3 (in fact, it's not too hard if you have the right equipment), I'm sure many can appreciate Barbi even more. And to be honestly selfish, I must confess I have never known her to be a singer, which only adds to her being a tremendously sweet down home girl. Thank You... Antonio

I just happened to be on Google looking up things on my boss who was like my dad. Found the sections on who he had produced, like Gilley, Little David Wilkins, and when I saw Barbi!!!! We were with Playboy Records, Country Division in Nashville. The sessions were awsome. When Barbi would record, lights down, hot pants. The poster you have with the V shaped points, we could not keep in stock!!!! DJ's, everyone wanted it!!! That job, when the bunnies flew in was so much fun. That was the best 4 years of my life. Wish I still had the LP or the sticker of the "Playboy Country Hits-vol. 1". Can't find it anywhere. But memories are great. Hef had come in for the show in October also. Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories. I still have my newspaper articles and note pads with the logo on them.

Darling Barbi Doll,
I saw this site a while ago, but it took me a bit to dare write, so here goes! (hope I can remember... got CRS)
I doubt that with all of the people one "meets" that even you can recall me. (plus I am easily forgotten anyway LOL) But in about '75 I was at a fair in Springfield near the mass/conn border (if I remember right). Even though I can't stand most country music, for some reason, I still had to listen to you perform. (I love Shania now, I think she's in her own class). Anyway, not to offend you, but I had no idea who you really were then, or for years. (but you kinda "made" me watch "yeech", hee haw later just to see ya LOL)

So my cute older sister and her now husband (Thcaat I called him... bratty brother) told me to get your autograph, but I was so shy then that they pretty much dragged me to the line. I felt stupid and embarassed and waited, praying you would just be nice to me. I thought you were only going to sign my poster (I had no money for a record... long live vinyl!) (I do think I remember you had on jeans when signing) Anyway, I was amazed when you laughed a bit that I called myself "Peachy", and talked a moment. You grinned and wrote "To Peach, I'd love to have a bite of you! Barbi". Clever... never saw that coming! I thought I was gonna crack up.

I was thunderstruck that a performer had paid any attention to someone like me. Kinda sad too, in a way
Of course, nobody has ever believed my story (except my sister). Friends don't even bother to look at my poster close. Still, you are the centerpiece of my tiny living room, above my tv, and with my beloved stereo system (it sounds like music, a love of my life). I am 45 now, a recovering alcoholic (celebrate aug 3yrs), and have schizo-affective disorder etc. Even though I have an EE type b.s., I can't fully support myself without SSDI. However, I want you to KNOW something. That even though I could be homeless again, nothing will ever ever get me to part with this gift, for it is priceles to me. I promise you. (well, YOU could have it)

I am so grateful you get to have a nice home and family. (my favorite joke with lady friends is that I have a happiness policy, "as long as you're happy, I can be happy") be well always!!! I truely wish that.
I just don't know how to ever thank you. You too, are in a class all by yourself.
God Bless You, Barbi Benton
THANK YOU
Jim

I have an original Barbi Benton oil painting from the estate of Robert Theders, a wealthy Reno man, who commissioned Kuang F. Young to paint it. It measures (in the frame) 43 X 31 inches. Her head is approximately 12 inches long so I think she is painted a bit larger than life size. While stationed in Turkiye in 2001 I found a local artist and had another painted (smaller) painted in pastel -- makes the skin look real! I also found an artist that made pictures on fine wood using a pencil iron and commissioned a wood version. It is 19 X 14.5 inches. I will be sending a picture of the oil and pastel in case he would like to put them with the pictures of Barbi. Mac
PS. I would love it if Barbi would autograph the paintings. I am willing to travel and bring the paintings most about anywhere for the autographs!

I used to watch Barbi on Heehaw every week. I saw her at a fair singing in 1975 in upstate New York or someplace around there. She sang "Brass buckles". I have been singing this since then. Until today when I found a recording of it. Now I have it. What is she doing these days?

Thank you for offering this site to see and hear about what I have always considered to be the most beautiful lady of all. She still looks as beautiful and as gracious as she did when I was a child. I am 43 now and have never not been mezmerized by her beauty. She always seemed so normal and like one of us, and what I read on this site supports that. To me, that makes her so much more beautiful. If she should ever read this I would hope that she could email me and just say hi. That would simply thrill me. I hope that you are as happy in your life as you have made ours by being you and sharing your songs and talent with us. Thank you so much and good luck to you, your husband and children and thank you again. Sincerely, Tony

To Jewish Fan,

Her real name is Klein, but was given a stage name of Benton. According to an interview in his LITTLE BLACK BOOK, he quotes, "Barbi is a Jewish Princess". Yes, she is of the Jewish faith, but I do not know if she is Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, etc. or even if she is a practicing member of the faith. He didn't want children, but she did, thus they broke up in the 70's. Lucky man, that George Gradow. Hope that helps a little.

It has been brought to my attention that my girlfriend looks a little like Miss Benton. What a thrill! I grew up reading about Barbi, although I only ever read Playboy Magazine for the fiction. I wonder if you have any photos of Miss Benton wearing overalls, or mormon underwear?
I am very attractive myself, but no one may mention this. Thank you for providing this safe haven for my innermost thoughts about Miss Benton, my girlfriend, and myself. Love, Bruce

I absolutely fell in love with Barbi the first moment I saw her when I was just a teenager in highschool. Although she was a couple of years older than me, I have never forgotten her beautiful face, her smile and those eyes that would steal the sailor from the sea or in my case, the mountain boy from the mountains! I grew up in Colorado and try to go "home" to see my mountains every chance I get. I actually saw Barbi in Aspen in 1985 or 1986. I was participating in the Colorado 500 motorcycle ride that year and passed her in the Aspen airport. She looked right into my eyes and it was a look that has stayed with me to this moment. When she passed, I remember saying to myself, "that was Barbi..." and I have always wished I would have at least said "hello" to the most beautiful girl that has ever lived.

I am glad to hear she is living in Colorado still - she adds the grace and beauty to the mountains that only she can. I am sure her radiance is what makes the golden aspens shimmer in the Fall and she adds the diamond sparkles to the new-fallen snow. Barbi, I don't know if we will ever pass again, but if you read this, please drop me a line just to say "hi", the "hi" I have always wished I would have spoken that day in Aspen. I have a successful career as a firefighter here in IN, but my heart will always be in Colorado - especially now that I know Barbi is still there. Barbi, happy birthday!
